2009 Team Profiles

Team Brick Alberta
TEAM BRICK ALBERTA 2009 was selected late May 2009. Players attended selection camps throughout the winter and spring in Calgary and Edmonton. Players competed in the 2008 spring season on the team of their choice and the players were scouted during their games and tournament play. Team Brick Won Silver in the Subway Classic in Winnipeg and is looking forward to this years Brick Tournament. TEAM BRICK is proud to represent the province of Alberta. WE would like to welcome all the other teams and hope you enjoy the competition.

Chicago Junior Blackhawks
The Illinois Brick Hockey Club is proud to represent the Chicago Junior Blackhawks in the Brick Super Novice Invitational. 2009 marks the first time Chicago will be represented in this most prestigious event and we are truly honored to be a part of the tournament. The Junior Blackhawks team was selected from a group of 102 dedicated players that attended a full day of activities at United Center, home of the Chicago Blackhawks. The players have been training hard and enjoying getting to know their new teammates as they prepare for the experience in Edmonton. Thank you to all of the members of the organizing committee for making our first experience so positive and to the Chicago Blackhawks for their full support.

Winnipeg Junior Jets
The Winnipeg Junior Jets roster represents players from all across Manitoba in 2009. In addition to players playing elite hockey in Winnipeg, the team also features players from Westman, Eastman and the Interlake areas of Manitoba. The selection process for the Jets was a difficult one but head coach Garth Lancaster and his staff feel they selected a talented group of players who will compete hard against all the great teams in this year's tournament. The Junior Jets players, staff and family are very excited to be participating in this world class tournament and can't wait to spread some of that friendly Manitoba cheer in Alberta's capital.

Detroit Little Caesars Red Wings
Little Caesars AAA Hockey Club was founded in 1968, and is one of the most respected and competitive amateur hockey organizations in North America. Currently, 27 Little Caesars AAA alumnus are playing, or have played, in the National Hockey League. Hundreds of others have established collegiate and/or pro hockey careers.We at Little Caesars promote excellence, hard work and integrity on and off the ice.
This year's group, comprised of players mainly from southeastern Michigan, is excited to keep the Little Caesars and Detroit Red Wings tradition going at the prestigious Brick Tournament this summer in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The team is looking to continue their winning ways, having come off consecutive tournament wins at the Cougar Classic in Chicago and the Ronald McDonald Tournament in Toronto.
The Little Caesars/Red Wings players, coaches and parents would like wish everybody in this year's Brick Tournament the best of luck and a big thanks to the organizers, sponsors and volunteers for their help to make this event the elite of the elite. Good Luck to all of the 2009 competitors.

California 99s
The California 99s are proud to represent Southern California by attending the 20th Annual Edmonton Brick Tournament this summer. Our team, comprised of players from California, Nevada, and Alaska, is looking forward to a great hockey event and the opportunity to compete against top elite athletes in their age group.  We wish the best of luck to all teams participating and a special thanks to the Brick tournament directors and volunteers who host the best hockey tournament in the world.

Connecticut Yankees
Team Connecticut Yankees Brick was selected in January 2009 after a tough two day tryout in New Jersey.  The team has practiced for six weeks and played in games for the first time together at the Toronto Ronald MacDonald Tournament in May. The Yankees players and coaching staff are looking forward to playing against the best competition in North America. We are proud to represent the New York Tri State area and the Connecticut Yankee's organization. We would like to wish everyone well over this great hockey week in Edmonton.


Minnesota Blades
Team Minnesota Blades are once again proud to represent Minnesota at the prestigious Brick Tournament.  We are all looking forward to sharing the ice with the best players from across North America.  The Blades Organization has a proud tradition of developing strong hockey talent with over 270 Division 1/Pro Players since 1976.  Our team recently won the Stars & Stripes Invitational Spring Hockey Tournament.  Thank you to the entire Brick Staff for all their hard work and good luck to everyone in this year's tournament.

Montreal Ice Storm
The Montreal Ice Storm is extremely pleased to once again represent Quebec in this very prestigious hockey event. The 99 team was created through a recent selection of over 75 kids from across Quebec. The players were selected for their work ethic, performance, and the willingness to compete.
The team is lead by head coach Mike McGrath and Jean Sebastien Perron who have both coached at very high levels and have helped players reach the NHL! However today, their focus is on these children that will get their first experience at a very high level of competition. The players, coaches, and parents would like to thank The Brick Tournament organization for the privilege of competing in this great event. Best of luck to all of the participating teams -  GO ICE STORM GO!!

Team Saskatchewan
2009 Team Saskatchewan is a melding of AAA hockey players from across Saskatchewan.  In the 1999 age group, our hockey loving province, produced 7 AAA teams.  From this diverse and talented pool of players, team Saskatchewan was chosen.  Players were evaluated over an 18 month process.  Two evaluation camps were held throughout the last year in order to select Saskatchewan's top competitors for this years Brick Super Novice Tournament.  Our players, coaches and parents feel both privledged and confident to be attending the 2009 Brick Super Novice Tournament as hockey representives for our province.  We would like to thank the organizing committee for their tireless work preparing for this first class hockey event.  Good luck to all the players!

Toronto Bulldogs
The Toronto Bulldogs Hockey Club is very excited to send for the ninth year, another very talented group of 10 year olds from across Ontario to the Annual Brick Super Novice Tournament. After successfully winning the Brick Tournament twice and being the Tournament Finalists twice, the boys and the coaching staff of this years 1999 team have been working very hard to prepare to try to capture another title. These young men are looking forward to the excitement of competing against the best 10 year olds in North America.  As last summer, this high level of competition will allow these young players to display their talents in a healthy and exciting atmosphere, which will improve their skills and confidence.
From the friendly staff, coaches, parents and players of our Club, we give special thanks to the Brick Tournament Staff for inviting The Toronto Bulldogs to participate in this great Hockey event. The Toronto Bulldogs Club wish good luck to all of you and remember every participant in this tournament is a winner!

Toronto Pro Hockey
The Toronto Pro Hockey is pleased to represent southwestern Ontario at the ever prestigious 20th Anniversary Brick Super Novice Invitational Tournament. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity for these boys to not only compete at a high level, but also provide them with an experience that will have them develop friendships and memories that will last a life time. Thank you to the 2009 Brick Organizing Committee for all the efforts that continue to make this tournament a first class event. The Toronto Pro Hockey wishes all the teams and participants best of luck in the 2009 Brick Super Novice Hockey Tournament. Achievement: The Toronto Pro Hockey team participated in the Toronto Bad Boyz Tournament  May 22 to 24 and claimed the Championship.

Vancouver Vipers
VANCOUVER VIPERS players were selected in late 2008 and represent regions throughout British Columbia - Metro Vancouver, Prince George, Kelowna, and Vancouver Island.  The Vancouver Vipers organization is known not only for developing talent, but also by its character, integrity, and desire to compete in all situations.  The team started training in April 2009 and has experienced extensive development under the direction of Head Coach, Jon Calvano.  The team recently competed in the Detroit Elite Prospects and the Subway North American Classic in Winnipeg.  The players, parents and the coaches are honoured to represent British Columbia in The Brick Tournament and would like to thank The Brick for its great support, as well as, the many volunteers for their commitment to making this an experience to be remembered.
