Team Brick Alberta
Team Brick Alberta was selected in early April after players from all over Alberta were selected from an extensive tryout process. Selection camps were held in Edmonton, Calgary and Jasper, in addition to intensive individual player scouting throughout the winter hockey season. 2013 marks the first season for Team Brick coaching staff lead by Steve Serdachny, Dan Serdachny, Travis Toomey, Sean Connauton, Ian Gordon, and Fred Chabot.
Team Brick preparation began immediately after the selection process was complete and has been an exceptional experience for the coaching staff and players. The team have played and participated in tournaments hosted in Toronto, Edmonton and Winnipeg with excellent results. We look forward to participating in the world’s best Super Novice tournament.
We welcome all teams to the City of Edmonton and the 24th annual Brick Invitational Tournament. We also would like to thank Bill Comrie, Craig Styles, Andy Wigston and all the Brick tournament organizing committee, a special thank you to all of our sponsors, the families of our players and coaches and everyone who has put in an incredible amount of time and effort into the Team Brick program. Chicago JR. Blackhawks
The Chicago Jr. Blackhawks were chosen after a five month selection process. Players were invited to attend the tryout at the United Center, after participating in an evaluation camp in December. From the UC, players were placed on two teams to compete in the Chi Town Shuffle, from which the final team was selected. The Chicago Jr. Blackhawks competed in theTop Tier Tournament, losing in the semi-finals.
Boston JR. Bruins
The Boston Junior Bruins team was finalized late in the winter of 2013 and are proud to represent the greater Boston area at the Brick tournament on and off the ice. We would like to thank the Brick tournament, Mr. Bill Comrie, Mr. Craig Styles, Mr. Andy Wigston, Ms. Debbie Heim and all the staff members and volunteers for the opportunity to participate in the best youth hockey tournament in the world.
The roster includes players from Massachusetts (14), New Hampshire (2) and Connecticut (1). We are excited to be back at the Brick and look forward to a great week of hockey! Go B’s !
Connecticut Yankees
The 2013 CT Yankees Brick Team was selected in March. Players attended selection camps throughout the Spring of 2013. The CT Yankees Brick Team competed in several tournaments and mini camps prior to travelling to The Brick. The CT Yankees would like to acknowledge The Brick for its dedication and commitment to youth hockey. The CT Yankees are excited and honored to be able to participate in The Brick.
Winnipeg Junior Jets
The Winnipeg Junior Jets were selected back in September 2012.¬ The Junior Jets had over 75 players from all over Manitoba compete for roster spots over a week long camp at the MTS Iceplex . Coach Garth Lancaster has put together a very talented group of players to don the new colors of the NHL’s own Winnipeg Jets in this year’s Brick Super Novice Tournament. The Winnipeg Junior Jets players and families are very excited to be travelling to Edmonton the first week of July to participate in this historic tournament. They are excited for this opportunity to represent their province and proud to be “the Jets”. Go Jets Go!!
Detroit Little Caesars Red Wings
Little Caesars, the parent organization of the Detroit Red Wings, has supported AAA hockey since 1968, the year the Little Caesars AAA Hockey Club was founded. The organization remains one of the most respected and competitive amateur hockey organizations in North America. Currently over 50 Little Caesars AAA alumni are playing, or have played, in the National Hockey League. Hundreds of others have established collegiate and/or pro hockey careers. It is from this foundation that this year’s Detroit Red Wings Brick Team is built. The 2013 team is mainly composed of players from Michigan. Since coming together as a team in early April the team has participated in the 2002 HPHL Spring Challenge, Elite Prospects Event, and several events in Toronto. Our players, coaches and parents wish everyone the best of luck for in this year’s tournament. We also want to thank the organizers, sponsors and volunteers for their help in making this such a prestigious event.
Team California
Team California assembled in April to attend this year’s 24th Brick Super Novice Hockey tournament. The team attended the Chi-Town Shuffle in Chicago in April and also participated in the LA Brick Invitational Exhibition Series in early June. The seventeen players and their families wish to express gratitude to the Brick Warehouse, the Brick tournament organizers, volunteers, and sponsors for putting on the “way coolest” tournament ever. Team Minnesota
The 2013 TEAM MINNESOTA BRICK is honored to have the opportunity to participate in such an elite “once in a lifetime” hockey tournament. Our efforts in identifying and recruiting the best 03’s in Minnesota started back in 2011; just recently completing the formal Brick Team Minnesota tryouts and player selections on May 24th, 2013. With great tryout participation from the far reaches of northern and southern Minnesota as well as outstate players from Illinois and Iowa, we will be bringing forth an excellent team composed of 100% Minnesota players to compete in the 24th Annual Brick Invitational Super Novice Tournament. For many of these players, 3 spring tournament championships, an overall 17-3-1 record (at 02 & 03 Invite levels) and final plans to travel to Winnipeg prior to the Brick for the NAHC, our coaching staff has done our best in preparation to compete at the Brick. We would like to thank the Minnesota Blades as an organization for all their support, extend our sincere appreciation in advance to our tournament hosts, sponsors and volunteers and wish our competitors only the very best!
Montreal Ice Storm
The Montreal Ice Storm is thrilled to be participating once again in the prestigious Brick tournament. The selection process for this year’s team was long and rigorous, commencing with an invitation tryout camp in Montreal during Christmas break at which over 70 players attended, followed by a first round of selections and then another tryout camp held during spring break in Trois Rivieres. This year’s edition of the Montreal Ice Storm Brick team hails from across Quebec over a geographic scope of more than 500 kms. from Montreal to Saguenay and various points in between, including Quebec City, Trois Rivieres, Drummondville and Victoriaville. Coach Pascal Luneau and his staff are confident that this year’s squad will compete well, and strong performances by the team at the Toronto Invitational in April and at the Montreal Meltdown in May bode well. The week long Brick tournament experience is one that has been highly anticipated all year by our players, staff and parents, and everyone looks forward to the trip to Edmonton and coming away with memories for a lifetime. Merci beaucoup to The Brick and to Craig Styles and his Brick team for having us back and for hosting and running a world class event. Bonne chance a tous and let the games begin!
Saskatchewan JR. Pats
Team Saskatchewan would like to thank the Brick Tournament committee for accepting our team to participate in such a prestigious tournament. Toronto Bulldogs
The Toronto Bulldogs 2003 Brick Team is a hardworking, gritty, and focused group of individuals, who when put together, exemplify the core values of a team. Their achievements prior to the Edmonton Brick Tournament have been realized because of their commitment of working together, for each other. Toronto Pro Hockey
The Pro Hockey Toronto Brick Team began its evaluation process back in August 2012. With many great players to watch and evaluate the final team was selected in January 2013. The team has been skating regularly using a combination of both weekly practices and weekend mini camps. Pro Hockey Brick has competed in three spring tournaments in preparation for the Brick Invitational where they saw some great competition including six of this year’s Brick Teams. Pro Hockey Brick is extremely proud and excited to be back at the 2013 Brick Invitational and would like to thank the tournament committee for putting on such a great event and wish the best of luck to all participants!
BC Junior Canucks
The BC Junior Canucks are entering their 3rd year under this banner (Formally Vancouver Vipers) we are honored to be a part of such a great life experience for these 9 and 10 year old hockey players from our region. We have representations from Victoria, Kamloops, Vernon, Greater Vancouver, and Fraser Valley this season. We pull from Various AAA spring programs to form BC Finest. We like to thank Craig Reed, Craig Styles, Andy Wigston, and Debbie Heim for all their continued support and hard work to put on the Greatest Minor hockey experience,
Team Pennsylvania
TEAM PENNSYLVANIA was selected in late May 2013. The roster is primarily comprised of players from Pennsylvania who participated in the Pittsburgh Penguins Selects and Philadelphia Flyers Selects spring teams. Throughout the winter and spring, both teams conducted practices and participated in Pre-Brick tournaments. The final roster, which also includes three import players from Nova Scotia, was determined at a selection camp in Pittsburgh. Team Pennsylvania-2003 went on to compete in the Ronald McDonald Tournament in Toronto, and a training camp weekend in Philadelphia prior to traveling to Edmonton for the Brick Invitational Tournament. We would like to thank our sponsors– the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Philadelphia Flyers and GNC – for providing us with this unique opportunity, and wish all of the teams competing in this year’s tournament the best of luck!
